Resources For Ohio Sexual Assault Survivors
Last updated on March 26, 2026
After being sexually assaulted, you might feel all alone, with nobody to turn to for help. Fortunately, you are not alone. My name is Konrad Kircher, and I have represented survivors of rape, sexual assault and child sexual abuse in Ohio for over 30 years. I will be by your side throughout the process of exposing your abuser and holding them legally accountable.
Steps To Report Sexual Assault In Ohio
The first step is to make a report to law enforcement. They can assist with the investigation and evidence gathering, and this also gives you a police report and a record of events. It can be helpful to talk with medical professionals, and get medical records or have exams carried out. For sexual assault survivors in Ohio, the medical exam is free. If the survivor is a minor who is under 18 years old, then it could be an issue of child abuse or neglect, which may necessitate other reports, such as contacting child protective services (CPS).
Sexual Survivor Support Groups In Ohio
There are support groups for survivors of sexual assault in Ohio, which can be very helpful for victims at this time. Three examples include:
- Ohio Alliance to End Sexual Violence (OAESV)
- Cleveland Rape Crisis Center (CRCC)
- YWCA Rape Crisis Center (Northwest Ohio)
If you need further resources, my team is here to help every step of the way and would be happy to connect you with local organizations and resources.
Ohio Rape And Sexual Assault Safety Planning Resources
For those who have experienced either sexual assault or rape in Ohio, one useful program can be the Survivor Advocacy Outreach Program (SAOP). It can also be helpful to contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline, which is free.
Making the proper reports is important not just to get support for the victims but also because compensation is sometimes available from the Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program. However, for someone to be eligible, they typically have to contact the police within 72 hours to make their report. An experienced attorney can help you navigate the reporting process and ensure that you utilize all of the options that are available to you.
